PUPILS from Mount Pleasant Primary School in Thurso acknowledged this year’s Children in Need theme of "Show Your Spots" by holding a "spot mob"!

Inspired by a flash mob – which usually involves a group of people who assemble suddenly, perform an unusual act and then disperse – pupils purchased a paper plate (spot) for 50p and decorated it.

The youngsters gathered in the hall on the morning of Children in Need day and formed the letters "C", "I" and "N".

Pupils were then given a short period of time to go round the school as part of a "spot mob" and stick their spot up anywhere they liked!

Tegan Souter from Primary 7 also made Pudsey spot cakes and sold them, making £25.

Children in Need fund-raising bands and keyrings were on sale in school in the run-up to the big day.

Suzanne Urquhart, head teacher, said: "I hope we will be inspiring more people to take on the challenge of holding their own ‘spot mob’, as our school is definitely showing its spots.

"Well done to everyone involved. The children had a great time helping each other find the perfect spot!"
