Fine issued after Thurso car smash





A TWO-vehicle smash in the centre of Thurso led to a woman being given an on-the-spot fine yesterday.

Police Scotland released a statement today saying: "Around 1.20pm on Thursday, 27 August, 2020, police were called to a two-vehicle road crash on Princes Street, Thurso."

An eyewitness said he saw one of the vehicles, which he believes was a taxi, being smashed in its side and police and ambulance crew attending the scene.

Police confirmed that a Range Rover and Skoda were involved in the incident with "minor injuries" occurring as a result of the crash.

"The 59-year-old male driver of the Skoda was taken to Caithness General Hospital as a precaution," said the police spokesperson.

The driver of the Range Rover, a woman also aged 59, was issued with a fixed penalty notice.
