A drunk woman was arrested after she refused to leave a Wick pub.

Police officers were called to Harper's Bar in Bridge Street, Wick on January 28 where a "heavily intoxicated" woman was refusing to leave.

Fiscal David Barclay told Wick Sheriff Court that the officers tried to reason with Holly Mackay (25) who was "clearly well under the influence of alcohol"

She shouted and swore at them and had to be arrested, he said.

Unemployed Mackay, a first offender, admitted behaving in an abusive manner when she appeared at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Solicitor Meegan Anderson said that Mackay, of Albyn Court, Thurso, had limited recollection of the incident but accepted responsibility for her actions.

She was fined £300.
