Fine for Wicker who resisted arrest

A Wick man didn't come quietly when told by police he was being arrested.

Murray Clelland (31) tensed up to prevent handcuffs from being applied and struggled with the officers, the town's sheriff court heard last week.

The offence occurred at a house in Wellington Avenue, Wick, on September 19.

The police had gone there to investigate an assault that was alleged to have involved the accused, who lives in Whitehouse Park, Wick.

Clelland, a self-employed builder, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and also admitted having a record. He was fined £270.
