Fine for A9 driver caught at 81 mph near Thurso





A young Wick driver who was clocked by police travelling at 81 mph in a 60 mph limit has been fined £100.

First offender Angus Cormack also incurred three penalty points after he admitted the offence at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old apprentice, of Louisburgh Street, Wick, was caught in a speed trap on the A9 at Shalmstry, near Thurso, on September 24 last year.

Sheriff Ian Anderson took account of the accused's limited income.
