Fine for 80mph speeding driver

A driver who broke the speed limit on a main road in Caithness has been fined £100.

Stewart Thomson admitted driving at 80 mph.

The 54-year-old from Lingahoull, Stromfirth, Weisdale, also incurred three penalty points when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The offence occurred on the A9 on May 19, at Loch Rangag where there is a 60 mph speed limit in force.
