Fine and points for speeding Thurso van driver

A van driver has been fined £100 for speeding on the Stainland straight on the A9 on the approach to Thurso.

Mark Eddowes pleaded guilty by letter at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday to driving at 76 miles per hour when the legal limit for his vehicle is 50.

Eddowes (57), of Heathfield Road, Thurso, also has to pay a £10 victim surcharge and had three penalty points imposed on his licence.
