A new film and sound project showcasing work from young Highland artists will be presented in Thurso next week as part of a mini-tour of the region.

The artists teamed up with the charity Youth Highland and professional artists to create the immersive piece, Where’s Your Head At? It expresses young people's reflections about growing up in the north, the impact of the pandemic on their lives and the changes they want to see and be part of in the future.

It will be presented at Thurso Youth Club on Saturday, February 12, at 6.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend in line with the Scottish Government's Covid-19 guidance.

The piece will also be shown in Balintore (February 10), Inverness (February 11) and Alness (February 13).

The project is funded by the Scottish Government’s Youth Arts Fund through Creative Scotland and is supported by the Youth Music Initiative and Time to Shine.

Clair Nichols, chief officer at Youth Highland, said: “Young people have missed out on a lot and have made great sacrifices during the pandemic.

“Their stories and experiences will act as a lasting legacy and we must help their hopes to be realised to ensure they move positively into the future.”
