Feedback sought on polling station review
MEMBERS of the public are being asked to suggest possible locations for polling stations at the next UK parliamentary election in 2015.
Highland Council is reviewing polling places used by voters and also the boundaries of their polling districts.
The council is eager to ensure that its network of 218 polling places is viable and complies fully with disability legislation.
At the previous UK election, there were 19 polling stations in Caithness, which included three stations in Thurso and Wick.
Other polling stations in Caithness included Castletown, Reay, Halkirk, Bower, Watten, Dunnet, Canisbay, Keiss, Reiss, Thrumster, Lybster and Dunbeath.

Any elector is welcome to give feedback on the review, including the proposals for specified alternative polling places.
Representations should go in writing to Alistair Dodds, chief executive, Highland Council, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness IV3 5NX or by e-mail to election@highland.gov.uk by February 4.
