Rail passengers are being warned of disruption to services on the Far North Line later this month.

Engineering works are taking place over the last two weekends of October on the Far North Line.

The Far North and Kyle lines will both be closed on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22. Trains will be cancelled on both dates, with buses replacing services on both routes. In the west, a separate minibus will also serve Duncraig, Plockton and Duirinish from Stromeferry and Kyle of Lochalsh.

The engineering works continue the following weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29, when the Far North Line will be closed between Helmsdale and Wick.

Buses will replace trains between Inverness and Thurso/Wick.
