Far North line reopens after earlier closure due to flooding at Muir of Ord

The Far North rail line has reopened following an earlier closure due to flooding between Muir of Ord and Dingwall.

ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland both confirmed the line had reopened in posts on X shortly after 2.20pm.

The line had been closed after an earlier attempt to run the line was halted due to fresh flooding near Muir of Ord.

The 1.35pm Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh service was cancelled with a replacement bus on-site at Inverness for 2pm

The return journey at 5.13pm from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness was also cancelled with a bus provided.

An inspection of the tracks about an hour ago has revealed that the line is clear to reopen.
