Some of the Caithness and Sutherland Explorer Scouts are looking forward to attending a large camp in Norway next year.

Every four years the Norwegian Scout Association organises a jamboree and in 2025 it will be held in the town of Gjøvik, an area known for glass-making.

The local Scout district has arranged through one of the leader's contacts in Norway to give members the chance to have a week in Nessoden, just across the Oslo Fjord from Norway's capital, Oslo, before the jamboree.

As well as experiencing international travel, they hope to make lifelong friends there while developing their skills.

The Explorer Scouts are raising funds to help with the cost of the camp, and as part of this the team organised a successful Burns supper and ceilidh.

Support came from Tesco Wick and Sinclair Butchers, with extra help from parents and leaders.

Last week the team took part in a pub quiz at the Holborn Hotel in Thurso.
