A business bootcamp later this month promises “a morning of inspirational thoughts, support and networking designed to help businesses flourish and grow.”

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is holding the event – aimed at businesses across the Highlands – at the Caledonian Stadium on Friday, April 26 from 9.30am, for a 10am start, until 3pm.

The free bootcamp is open to all and targeted at businesses from across the Highlands, Moray and beyond.

The FSB’s Highlands and Islands development manager, David Richardson, said: “What with ever-increasing costs, staffing shortages and shaky consumer demand, 2024 is a tough year for many businesses in the Highlands and Moray. Nevertheless, businesses need not feel that they must walk alone.

“We want our bootcamp to help business owners and managers better understand some of the opportunities out there and to leave feeling inspired to find out more, to introduce them to some of the support they can access, and to enable them to network with like-minded businesses from across the region.

“We’ll have sessions on Attracting Customers and Boosting Sales; Staff Recruitment Retention – and Surviving Without; and New Opportunities for Growth.

“And rather than the audience feeling that they are being spoken at, we are adopting a more informal conversational style that will enable everyone to listen to and question the great speakers that we’ve lined up.

“We’ll have talks from Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s CEO Scot Gardner on the club as a business, and FSB Scotland Young Entrepreneur of the Year Sandie Gordon on her journey. We’ll also have a long networking lunch during which delegates can chat to the business support agency staff present.”
