Four teams from Ashleigh Campbell’s Castle View Stables at Wick competed in the final of the Pony Club’s national quiz competition held in South Yorkshire.

Around 600 entrants from across the UK enjoyed fun and friendship while demonstrating their equestrian knowledge at the Dodson and Horrell National Quiz Final at Sheffield Wednesday’s football stadium.

Castle View Stables Pony Club centre had two mini teams and two junior/senior teams in the final. The minis came second and fourth, while the juniors/seniors were third and ninth.

Mini teams – Castle View KW1zzers (second place): Emilia Sutherland, Ashleigh Miller, Olivia Oag and Rosie Streight. Castle View Stable Stars (fourth place): Caitlin Macleod, Megan Mackenzie, Kate Little and Olivia Sinclair.

Junior/senior teams – Castle View Neigh-it-alls (third place by 0.2 of a mark): Cora Hourston, Maisie Statham, Lily Grace Robertson and Brooke Miller. Castle View Pony Pals (ninth): Katie Donn, Lacey Hutton, Kaylah Wilkie and Abbie Sinclair.

Ashleigh, owner and instructor at Castle View Stables, said: “It was a fantastic day.

“Being able to showcase our talent on a national stage shows that we are passionate and knowledgeable about what we do and that anything is possible with hard work, dedication and friendship, all for the love of horses and ponies.”
