THURSO posties have been delivering a bit of mirth along with the mail to try and lift the spirits of the public during the coronavirus pandemic.

Delivery office manager Graeme Geddes dressed up as a Ninja Turtle, while postie Paul Gunn donned a Batman suit while making his deliveries in the High Ormlie/Castlegreen Road area of the town.

Mr Geddes was taking a high-capacity trolley to the Pennyland school area.

Mr Geddes said the staff wanted to do something to try and cheer up the community during the Covid-19 lockdown.

"The idea is to try and cheer the public up," Mr Geddes said. "The reaction has been very positive and it seems to be much appreciated.

"The posties are having a bit of a laugh too in what are difficult times."

The deliveries in fancy dress will be taking place within the town area.

A total of 37 people work at the Thurso office on a part-time or full-time basis.
