Residents at two Caithness care homes showed their competitive spirit in a nationwide bingo session.

Seaview House in Wick and Pentland View in Thurso were among more than 250 homes run by Barchester Healthcare across the UK taking part in a live link-up.

It was eyes down for a full house as they battled it out to see who would prevail in the inaugural Barchester Big Bingo Bonanza.

Gayle Magennis, general manager at Seaview House, said: “We’ve got some real bingo fanatics at our home – we are very competitive!

"Our residents love taking part in anything where winning is involved. You could have heard a pin drop in here when we were all playing.”

Seaview House resident Nancy Nicolson said: “It was such a fun afternoon. I always love a game of bingo.

"It was wonderful to see everyone in all the other homes joining in. I really enjoyed getting together with my fellow residents to take on the other homes – it is amazing how competitive everyone gets.”

Barchester Healthcare is one of the UK’s largest care providers.
