Businesses are being encouraged to sign up for a leading far north jobs fair due to take place next month.

Describing itself as the county’s biggest and best jobs, training and recruitment event, Caithness Jobs and How to Get Them will take place on Saturday, February 3 at the East Caithness Community Facility at Wick High School.

Caithness Chamber of Commerce CEO Trudy Morris said: “This really is the premier employment event in the north Highlands and a great opportunity to showcase your company. Employers have the opportunity to look for new talent and give attendees an idea of what skills and requirements businesses need both now and in the future.

“As a business, people are your most valuable asset and attracting the best workforce and identifying talent is key to developing a resilient and buoyant workforce. This event is the perfect place to highlight your values, culture, and overall employee experience with job seekers and differentiate your company from competitors.

“We are also encouraging exhibiting businesses to incorporate any interactive activities or demonstrations. These have proved extremely popular at our previous events as it helps those seeking employment and exploring future career options gain a real understanding of how a business functions and the skills required to be part of that workforce.”

The event is led by Caithness Chamber of Commerce’s Developing the Young Workforce North Highland (DYWNH) initiative in partnership with Focus North, DWP, UHI North West and Hebrides, Skills Development Scotland, and Highland Council.

Last year, the event show-cased 43 local and national exhibitors and attracted over 300 visitors for the opportunity to learn about vacancies, apprenticeships, access to training, and much more.

Further information about the upcoming event can be found at www.dywnh.scot and employers looking to sign up for a free stand for the event can contact at jane@dywnh.scot or telephone 01847 890076.
