Highland emergency services on scene after two-vehicle crash in Caithness closes A99 between Latheron and Lybster
The busy A99 trunk road is closed in both directions following a two-vehicle crash.
The collision which occurred shortly before 1.50pm, occurred on a section of the road between Latheron and Lybster.
Emergency services were called to the scene.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said that they were called to crash site at 1.51pm at the request of police.
Two appliances, one from Wick and the other from Thurso, were initially despatched, although only one was ultimately needed.

The crew made the vehicles safe and stood down at 2.17pm.
There is no immediate word on the type of vehicles involved, or if anyone was injured.
Motorists have been advised to take alternative routes where possible.
A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland, speaking shortly after 2.30pm, said: “The A99 is closed in both directions between Latheron and Lybster due to a road traffic collision.
“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.”
