Organisers of the East of Caithness SWI Bulb Show are looking forward to the return of the event for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

It will go ahead at the Assembly Rooms in Wick on Saturday, March 5, with a display of spring bulbs, baking and handicrafts. It starts at 2pm and guest speaker is Willie Watt.

Jeanette Coghill, secretary and treasurer of the bulb show committee, said: "We hope things will go well as this is the first show since Covid.

"We are all needing to be cheered up and there's nothing like the smell and sight of the spring bulbs when you enter the hall.

"Hopefully this will give people a bit of a lift. We all need it, as it has been a long two years."

The last show took place in early March 2020.
