A DUTCH motorcyclist has been killed after his bike collided with a campervan near the Berriedale Braes on Friday afternoon.

The road traffic collision took place at 4:45pm on the A9 at Bourge, two miles north of the braes,

The Dutch registered motorbike was travelling south when it collided with a campervan which was being driven by Italian tourists.

The motorcyclist was reported to have died at the scene while it is believed the two Italians in the campervan were not seriously hurt.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released but anyone with information relating to the collision is asked to contact police on 101.
