At a recent presentation in the Duncansby coastguard building, several members of the Duncansby team received valedictory certificates and long service medals covering 166 years' service to the Coastguard Rescue Service. From left: Andrew Burt, valedictory certificate for seven years' service; Andrew Mowat, long service medal for 20 years' service; Alison Smith, clasp to long service medal for 30 years' service; Walter Mowat, second clasp to long service medal, total of 44 years; Rognvald Brown, second clasp to long service medal for 40 years' service. All were presented by divisional commander Bill Speirs.

Missing from the picture is Alan Henderson who receives a valedictory certificate for 25 years service.

Alison remains in the team – she has also served in the Scrabster and Wick teams.

Andrew, Andrew, Walter, Rognvald and Alan have decided to leave the Coastguard Rescue Service so there are some vacancies in the Duncansby team. Anyone interested in joining is asked to email area2@mcga.gov.uk
