Dunbeath Primary School pupils enjoyed pre-Coronation fun by getting dressed up like kings and queens and followed with a royal feast.

Thirteen pupils from P1-3 followed on from their work in outdoor learning where they made natural sceptres and crowns using items from Dunbeath woods with a special Coronation style meal yesterday afternoon.

Teacher, Amanda Mee-Shipman, said: "The children had a Royal Forest feast that they made themselves.

"It included crown sandwiches, ham and breadstick sceptres, cheese and pineapple flags, vegetable guards, cakes and juice. The ingredients were kindly donated by Tesco, Wick."

She added that she was "super proud of their achievement" and how they all had great fun in the build up to today's Coronation.
