Drunken behaviour on Wick streets leads to police action

POLICE in Wick attended separate incidents in the town on Saturday evening after reports of drunken behaviour.

Empty bottles and glasses were seen on Francis Street beside vomit on the pavement and police gave "advice" to people gathered there.

Meanwhile in the town centre, some individuals were observed to be extremely intoxicated in Market Square before officers arrived.

A police spokesperson said: "Police Scotland was made aware of a group of people gathered at premises on Francis Street in Wick shortly after 6.15pm on Saturday, July 18. Advice was given and the group dispersed a short time later.

"A further report was received at premises on the High Street around 8.55pm. The group had dispersed prior to officers attending.

"No further police action was required."
