A drop-in session will take place at UHI North Highland’s Thurso campus this week as part of a 10-week public consultation on a proposed college merger.

The University of the Highlands and Islands is planning to merge UHI North Highland with its partners UHI Outer Hebrides and UHI West Highland.

The merger would see all three colleges merge into one single organisation, creating an anchor institution of scale and impact within UHI and the region, supporting 9000 students and 600 staff in 19 rural and island campus locations across the Highlands, Skye and Western Isles.

A drop-in session for students, staff and members of the public will take place at the Thurso campus on Tuesday, September 20, between 2pm and 3pm.

An online information session is also scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 28, from 7pm to 8pm.

The full merger proposal and business case for merger can be viewed at rural-islands-merger.uhi.ac.uk along with details how to get involved and have your say, including a survey for members of the public.

The consultation runs until Friday, October 14. The boards of management will consider the case for merger in November.
