Police attention was drawn to a parked car that had its hazard lights on in Wick a court heard.

Officers opened the driver's door and formed the opinion that Nicole McPhee (22) was under the influence of "something".

There was no suggestion that alcohol was involved.

McPhee, a first offender, admitted being in charge of her car while unfit through drugs in Henrietta Street, Wick, on November 2 last year.

Sheriff Neil Wilson was told that the accused may have taken sleeping tablets instead of prescribed medication earlier.

There was no underlying drug problem.

McPhee, of Cliff Cottages, Papigoe, was banned from driving for four months and ordered to carry out 65 hours of unpaid community work.
