Man denies driving at 90mph in Thurso while over alcohol limit

A Thurso driver is alleged to have driven dangerously and reached a speed of 90mph while being pursued by police officers in Thurso.

Stephen O'Kane is also accused of driving with excess alcohol, 59mcg – the limit is 22mcg – and failing to identify the driver of the car.

The 30-year-old, of Durness Street, Thurso, has pleaded not guilty and will stand trial on July 12.

The offences are said to have occurred in Thurso, on September 29, last year.
