DRIVERS in the Highlands and Islands are being reminded of the ‘Don’t Risk It’ message being delivered by Police Scotland following the latest national drink/drug driving campaign.
Across Scotland, 9000 drivers were stopped and breathalysed by police, including more than 1000 in the Highlands and Islands, during the two week summer campaign.
In the first week, five drink drivers in the region were found to be over the limit, resulting in two having cars seized. Seven were caught in the second week with a further two charged with drug driving. Of these, four were involved in a collision.
