Dounreay work programme in shop window





AN EVENT to promote contract and employment opportunities for decommissioning work at Dounreay was attended by companies from across the UK.

DSRL held a supply chain briefing event in Thurso to give an update on site operations over the past 12 months and to highlight future opportunities for small and medium size companies.

The 130 who attended included existing suppliers and those who are new to nuclear decommissioning. Presentations were amde by DSRL senior managers and the NDA’s head of programme for Dounreay Nigel Lowe.

DSRL head of commercial services Kenneth Linn said : “We want to have a robust and competitive supply chain with the necessary skills, capability and capacity to support the decommissioning of Dounreay”.

“One of our key aims is to improve visibility and access to opportunities for all the supply chain, and particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

“The feedback so far has been extremely positive.”
