A Wick woman's 100th birthday has resulted in a gift of more than £2000 for the town's Laurandy daycare centre.
Dorrie Barnes (née Miller) celebrated her centenary on Sunday, with family members getting together on Zoom to congratulate her.
She attended the Laurandy daycare centre before the pandemic and she regards the centre staff as part of her extended family.
Dorrie's daughter Doreen Turner explained: "Instead of receiving birthday gifts, mum wanted to give something back to the Laurandy centre for all the care and stimulation they give her. They have been doing home visits twice weekly since June last year.
"We set up a JustGiving page and to date we have raised £2225."
Dorrie is also indebted to the Pulteneytown People's Project Home Care staff who visit her three times daily, and she calls them her "angels".
Born on February 28, 1921, Dorrie is the only surviving member of a family of eight siblings.
She married Harry in 1948. He passed away five years ago.
Dorrie has a daughter Anne Thomson, who resides in Aberdeen, and a son Ernest, in Glasgow, as well as Doreen who lives in Wick.
She has eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Doreen added: "Mum thanks everyone for their generous donations, lovely cards, flowers and gifts.
"Mum's longevity is down to her positive attitude and her hard-working, contented and friendly nature. She is also very grateful for the support and care she receives from everyone around her."
