Don’t get caught out by new PPI scam

RESIDENTS in Caithness are being asked to be alert to a payment protection insurance (PPI) scam in the Highlands.

Individuals have been targeted by a company requesting payment by UKASH vouchers to release funds that may be owed to them.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said anyone who has an outstanding legitimate PPI claim should also be careful as the scam company appears to have knowledge of ongoing claims.

Police also advise if you receive a call of this description do not give out any personal or financial information, ask for a number on which to call them back and end the call.

You should never give out your personal information to anyone during an unsolicited call.

To report any suspicious calls please contact Police on 101.
