Wick Sheriff Court was told a lamb had to be put down after the incident.

A 52-year-old man has admitted being the owner of a dog that worried sheep in the Scarfskerry area of Caithness.

Christopher Page wasn't present at Wick Sheriff Court when his plea was tendered but Sheriff Andrew Berry ordered he appear personally next week.

The sheep-worrying took place in a field near the Shore Road, Scarfskerry on June 4.

Page's dog, named Chewy, chased a flock of sheep and lambs and attacked them, causing injury to three of the lambs, one of which had to be put down.

Page, of Bronx Cottage, Scarfskerry, will be sentenced on Wednesday next week after Sheriff Berry hears details of the incident.
