A driver was distracted while he was turning onto the Service Bridge in Wick and his wing mirror brushed past a woman crossing the road.

Dean Salim, of The Shore, Wick, admitted a charge of careless driving when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was fined £200 and incurred three penalty points.

The incident occurred while he was turning from The Shore, Wick, onto the Service Bridge, on February 1, last year.

Salim's wing mirror caught the pedestrian's jacket. She was said to have been uninjured but "got a fright".
