A Keiss man who drove while disqualified will be sentenced early next year.

Kris Ronaldson (30) pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday and also admitted having had no insurance. He has a previous record of offending.

The offences occurred in the town's Wellington Street, on November 10.

Sheriff Neil Wilson said he was duty-bound to continue the case for a background report as Ronaldson, of Robertson Crescent, Keiss, was currently subject to a community-based order.

Ronaldson will return to court on January 10, when the sheriff will hear the circumstances of the offence and mitigation before passing sentence.

Fiscal David Barclay accepted a plea of not guilty to an additional charge that the accused took and drove away the vehicle without the owner's consent.
