Caithness Disabled Swimming Club, which was founded at Thurso swimming pool some 45 years ago, has wound up.

However, retiring officials have been assured the disabled swimming sessions will continue to be run on Thursday evenings by High Life Highland staff at the pool.

It was decided that the remaining funds should be handed over to the Thurso-based Monday Club.

Isobel Robertson presented a cheque for £717.54 to Monday Club treasurer Barbara Haywood. Isobel and her husband Bill were founded members and helpers of the disabled swimming club.
