A defibrillator has been installed at Windhaven Café, Camping and B&B at Brough Bay after funding from the North Highland Initiative (NHI) Community Infrastructure Support Programme was received.

A grant of £1000 was put towards the total cost of purchasing and installing the automatic external defibrillator, with the café owners putting the remaining £500 towards the device.

Established by NHI and Dounreay Site Restoration Limited, the Community Infrastructure Support Programme provides grants of up to £1000 to communities in Caithness, Sutherland and Ross and Cromarty.

Clare Boardman, who runs the café, said: "Hopefully it will never have to be used but it is good to know we now have one in Brough."
