Crowvus Publishing guests at Latheron SWI

Mrs Lynsey Macleod, vice-president of Latheron SWI, welcomed members and several new guests to the September meeting.
Apologies were received from Carol Grant and Christine Henderson.
Mrs Macleod then introduced Judith and Virgina Crowe from Crowvus Publishing. Both ladies gave an interesting insight into what was involved in publishing a book, from the initial ideas and inspiration to the different stages of editing the manuscript until it is finally ready for publication.
They brought along a selection of the books they had written and published. Mrs Macloed thanked them both for their informative talk.
The members and guests then enjoyed a lovely tea provided by hostesses Anne Sutherland and Pat Hendry.
Mrs Macleod congratulated the members who had taken part in the County Show, bringing home several trophies including the institute with most points in the show. Trophies and prize money were handed out.
County Show and Bulb Show lists for 2024 were handed out.
The County SWI Quiz is to be held in Latheron Hall on Thursday, October 3, at 7.30pm. Latheron is to submit two teams.
