RESURFACING work on a key A9 bridge link within Ross-shire has been rescheduled due to bad weather.

BEAR Scotland says the rescheduled resurfacing project for the A9 Cromarty Bridge, which carries the major trunk road through the Highlands over the Cromarty Firth, is now planned to begin on Sunday, April 23 for a total of five nights.

This will be weather dependant and follows a prolonged spell of bad weather in March, the agency says.

That project will be followed by "associated works" from Monday, May 1 for five nights.

BEAR Scotland bridges engineer Finlay Beaton said: "The A9 will remain open for the resurfacing and associated works, however, a lane closure with intermittent convoy working and traffic lights will be in place for safety during the project.

"Motorists using the route should be aware that there may be minor delays north and southbound for the duration of the works."

He thanked road users for their patience.
