Crofters reminded to return annual census notice before end of March

Crofters are being urged to return their annual census notice before an end of the month deadline.

The Crofting Commission has issued a reminder today that it is a legal requirement for crofters to complete the annual notice, also known as the annual crofting census, before the deadline of midnight on March 31, 2023.

The annual notice allows the Crofting Commission to accurately gauge and monitor the crofting sector throughout the country and helps to inform policy decision making at a national level. All tenant and owner-occupier crofters are legally obligated to respond and all have been sent a letter with a unique log in code and details for how to complete their return online.

In most cases the return can be made in just a few minutes.
