A crab boat reported to have struck rocks off Noss Head was escorted safely back to Wick Harbour by RNLI crew.

Wick Lifeboat received a distress call from the Delta Dawn on Wednesday morning after the crab boat was reported by the RNLI to be "on the rocks" at Noss Head.

Volunteers from Wick Lifeboat were launched into action at 9.35am to escort the crab boat back to port.

The vessel arrived safely at 10am and neither of the two men aboard were injured.

Wick RNLI reported that the crab boat did not take in any water as a result of the incident.

But it was lifted out of the harbour for a further inspection to be carried out to assess the damage.
