Covid vaccination sessions planned for Caithness and Sutherland this month
NHS Highland has arranged a series of Covid vaccination sessions in Caithness and Sutherland during July.
Drop-in clinics have been scheduled for Thurso, Bettyhill, Lybster, Golspie, Bonar Bridge and Kinlochbervie.
The health board is awaiting confirmation of venues in Wick and Lochinver.
A clinic planned for Melvich (July 14) has been cancelled.
Last week NHS Highland's director of public health, Dr Tim Allison, warned that Covid “has not gone away” even though most people are no longer testing for the virus.
Scotland’s health secretary Humza Yousaf emphasised recently that vaccination has been the most effective tool against Covid. “We are seeing higher numbers of infections across our communities at the moment, which is why booster vaccination is needed to maintain the best protection against Covid-19 for those at highest risk of severe effects from the virus,” he said.
Full details of the vaccination programme in the north can be found on the NHS Highland website.
