There were at least 73 new Covid-19 cases in Caithness in the latest seven-day period recorded by Public Health Scotland.

Among the county's seven neighbourhoods, Caithness North West and Wick South had the highest numbers of positive PCR tests with 16 each.

There were 13 in Caithness South, 12 in Thurso West, 11 in Wick North and five in Thurso East, based on tests between January 29 and February 4.

If a neighbourhood has fewer than three positive cases, the number is presented as 0-2 "to help protect patient confidentiality". The county's other neighbourhood – Caithness North East – came into this category based on tests from January 29 to February 4, meaning there could have been zero, one or two positive cases in each.

There were 14 positive tests in the Sutherland East neighbourhood, nine in Sutherland South and 0-2 in Sutherland North and West.

Positive PCR cases across the Highland local authority area during the latest seven-day period totalled 837, with a seven-day positive PCR rate per 100,000 population of 355.5 for the region as a whole.

Public Health Scotland's interactive dashboard has a map giving the number of cases in individual neighbourhoods throughout Scotland. Most neighbourhoods have between 2500 and 6000 residents.
