Covid-19 cases in Scotland rise a further 354 to 7102

ANOTHER 354 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Scotland – as the Highland number rose a further four to 184.

Some 7102 have now tested positive across Scotland since the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

And a further 80 people have died.

In the NHS Highland area, 60 patients were in hospital with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 at midnight last night, with six of them being treated in intensive care.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, Shetland, the Western Isles and Orkney's confirmed case numbers remained static for the second day in a row, with 45, six and five confirmed infections respectively.

NHS Grampian, meanwhile, recorded a further 32 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, taking its total to 389. Eighty-six people there are receiving treatment in its hospitals for the virus, of whom 16 are in intensive care.

And in NHS Tayside there were another 39 cases, taking its total to 937. A total of 118 people were receiving treatment in its hospitals, with six in intensive care.
