Covid-19 cases in NHS Highland area now number 151

THREE more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the NHS Highland area, taking the region's total number of known cases to 151.

Three hundred and twenty-two people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland since yesterday, taking the national total to 5912.

And 566 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of 24 on the same point yesterday.

In the NHS Highland area, the number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 decreased from 55 to 53.

The number of people in intensive care increased by one to eight at midnight last night.

A total of 221 people were in intensive care across Scotland overnight.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded another 30 positive tests for an overall tally of 291. Its hospitals were treating 91 people for the disease, with 14 receiving treatment in intensive care.
