One Keiss local believes the lorry may have hit a patch of black ice which forced it off the road and into the ditch close to the A99.

A recovery vehicle attended the scene as well as police officers from Wick.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15am on Tuesday, 29 December, officers were called to the Stain Road area of Keiss, following a report that a lorry had gone off the road.

"There were no reported serious injuries and the local authority have been contacted for uplift.”
