The latest figures take the total number of known cases of coronavirus in the NHS Highland area to 163.

One hundred and fifty-five people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland since yesterday, taking the national total to 6067.

And 575 people have died across the country since the outbreak began.

In the NHS Highland area, the number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 increased from 53 to 62, though the number of people in intensive care decreased by two to six.

A total of 211 people were in intensive care across Scotland overnight, down 10 on the night before.

NHS Grampian recorded another 22 positive tests, for an overall number of 313. Its hospitals were also treating 89 people in hospital for the disease, with 12 receiving treatment in intensive care.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had earlier urged caution over reading too much into a fall in figures at this stage, though she said there were early signs measures taken to combat coronavirus were having an impact.
