A good mix of local stallholders will be taking part in the Christmas fayre being held at the Seaview Hotel, John O'Groats tomorrow afternoon (Saturday).

Among the items up for sale will be a variety of crafts and produce, including artwork, jewellery, skin care products, home baking as well as gin, rum and vodka. Tropic representative Jenna Banks will be offering free hand massages.

Organiser Mairi Anne Cormack said those coming along will be given a warm welcome and the chance of a hearty lunch at the Seaview.

This event is the latest fundraiser for the new playpark in the village with a lucky square competition being among the activities on offer. Local primary school pupil Kara Manson, from Freswick, has spent her time this week making lovely festive headbands with all proceeds from her sales going to the project.

Around £15,000 has been raised in the last year for the proposed John O'Groats playpark with more money due to come in from a recent memorial rugby match.

The Christmas fayre will run from 1-3pm.
