Charter dinner marks 60 years of Thurso Rotary Club
Thurso Rotary Club celebrated its 60th anniversary with a formal charter dinner in the Weigh Inn Hotel.
The black-tie event was attended by the past presidents of Thurso Rotary, members of other Rotary clubs from across the north of Scotland and their partners. The guest speaker was Viscount Thurso, who entertained everyone with a topical after-dinner speech that was very well received.
A toast to Thurso Rotary Club was given by Richard Stanley, president of Wick Rotary Club, with a reply by Donald Sinclair, a past Thurso Rotary president.
A toast to Rotary International was given by district governor Ken McLennan.
After Viscount Thurso's speech, a vote of thanks was given by immediate past president Christopher Pearson followed by closing remarks and a final toast by president Daryl Pickering.
Wick Rotary Club celebrated the 60th anniversary of its charter with a dinner earlier in the year.
