VOLUNTEER firefighters in Wick spent Saturday raising cash from charity donations from a car wash session at their headquarters. The selfless fire crew scrubbed and polished cars then doused off the motors with their powerful hoses.
Crew manager at Wick fire station, Colin Gunn, said: "We collected £450 today at our car wash. A big thank you to the public that turned up to get their car washed, and for their generous donations."
The event was part of National Car Wash Day, a UK wide initiative to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity, and over the day the team did around 50 cars.
