A craft fair that holds its events at Thurso's Masonic Lodge has managed to raise £200 for Prostate Cancer UK.

At St Peter’s Operative Lodge on Olrig Street, Elaine Rapson-Grant of Artisans North handed the £200 cheque over to the Right Worshipful Master of the lodge, Ewan Mackay. In attendance were Colin Mackay and Mike Bowden who are also lodge members.

Elaine commented that she is absolutely delighted with the amount raised for charity taking into account that Artisans North only started hosting the craft events in July this year. "The hall size also restricts the number of stalls that can be accommodated," added Elaine. "The amount raised represents the profit made from table sales, after hall fees and other expenses have been deducted."

The St Peter’s Operative Lodge raises funds for Prostate Cancer UK – one of the biggest killers of men in the country – and Elaine commented that it is a "very worthy charity indeed".
