The Highland Business Women Awards 2025 are taking place on August 21 at the Kingsmills Hotel.

Sponsored by SJ Highland Construction the awards celebrate female entrepreneurs and leaders making a difference in their field.

As HBW celebrates its 30th anniversary as an organisation, it is pulling out all the stops for this event.

A returning category for this year’s ceremony is the individual team contributor award. This goes to a member of a team who is excelling in their role and acts as an inspiration to the rest of their colleagues.

This award was won by Mairi Macdonald of RBS in 2024.

Another returning award at the HBW celebration is the charitable organisation of the year which will go to a venture which is making a difference in the community.

Highland Action for Little Ones (Halo) picked up this accolade in 2024.

Established in January 2023 by Mel Thomson and her daughters Ashley and Lauren, Halo is a community-driven third-sector organisation committed to uplifting and empowering disadvantaged children and low-income families across the Highlands.

Its work provides essential resources like clothing, shoes, nappies, milk, baby equipment, school uniforms and toiletries to those in need.

By collecting donations of new and pre-loved items, Halo also promotes a circular economy, ensuring that these resources are reused and recycled within the community.
